Cozz performed back to back shows in NYC and his hometown, LA this week. The crowd was excited to experience Cozz’s first solo sets. BAS also surprised the LA crowd with high energy performances of ‘Tabs’ and ‘I Need That’.

Cozz aka Cody Macc is back with his second offering. ‘Nothin Personal’ is a free mixtape brought to you by Cozz & Tha Committee Records/Dreamville Records. Entirly produced by Meez with features from Bas, Boogie, Corey C, and FreeAckrite.

A day before the tape releases. Cody Macc gives us a glimpse at whats to come. Produced by in house Mitte Gang producer Meez, the track is the third song to be released off of Nothin’ Personal. Who said Cody ain’t the man?

Cozz blesses us with the latest cover art and tracklisting to his upcoming mixtape, Nothin’ Personal. Following his debut project, Cozz N Effect, “Nothin’ Personal” showcases a years worth of growth from the LA based MC. The 13 track mixtape was almost entirely produced by Committee’s own Meez and features appearances from Dreamville lablemate Bas, as well as Boogie, Corey C and Freeackrite. To celebrate the New Year, Cozz gives us a sneak peak at the tape with a new song “My Side”. Check it out below.

Sound of MTV just announced their  50 Artist to Watch in 2016  list and it includes well-deserved labelmates, Bas & Cozz. The Dreamville rappers are set to release their respective projects in 2016.

NYC received a special treat last night after Dreamville decided to bar crawl to celebrate the release of ROTD 2.  The crawl stops were announced through subway flyers and eventually caught up online as fans tried to track the impromptu shows from stop to stop. Performers included  Cole, Bas, Cozz, Omen and Dreamville’s latest signee, Lute.

The sequel to 2014’s Revenge of the Dreamers compilation features a nine-track set with appearances from Cole, Omen, Cozz, Lute, Ari and Bas. The Dreamville crew also make appearances, alongside the Social Experiment’s Donnie Trumpet and Correy C.

Cozz links up with fellow Dreamville artist Bas for the single “I Need That”. The visual, directed by Doubi Bishara, highlights his year on the road with his Dreamville crew. Watch as he and Bas emerging from the smoke and take us on tour.

J. Cole, Bas, Cozz and Omen are set to play at the Air + Style Music Festival in L.A. The two-day festival takes place at Expo Park between February 20 – 21.

Cozz: I’m a mystery to myself…

It was never truly dead, but hip-hop from the West Coast has recently risen to a stature it hasn’t enjoyed in years. One of the young artists looking to make a mark is South Central’s Cozz. Barely in his 20s, Cody Macc rolled a seven out the gate. While finishing what was to be his debut mixtape, Cozz And Effect, he was already fielding meetings with seasoned music industry brass like Lyor Cohen, Kevin Liles and even Wyclef Jean. Still, it was J. Cole’s nascent Dreamville Records that made the most sense. Since last summer Cozz has been a Dreamville artist. But what does it mean for a young man from South Central to go from trying out his first bars at 16 to signing a deal at 20? I got the “Dreams” rapper on the phone to talk about what he learned from attending high school a few miles south and a world away in Manhattan Beach, the impact he’s looking to make and how it feels to be finding yourself while knee-deep in the rap game. Where were you born?

Cozz: I was born in Inglewood, [lived] there until I was six and then I moved to South Central where I’m at now. Before high school I was just an L.A. kid who was going in the city, playing outside and kicking it with the boys and you know, getting in trouble—not getting in trouble but trying to stay out of trouble. It’s just where we come from. Where there’s gang activity, you know we try to sneak out and kick it with girls and regular kid shit. I grew up with both of my parents, my mom and my pops. Except for later down the line they split up after high school, but they never had a healthy relationship. It was always hard with things going on inside the house. Other than that, it was just typical L.A. kids.
